Amy,
Sorry, this announcement must have been PD (Pre-Dana) or I was just so
overwhelmed by all this fun that I missed it.

Either way the regional was great. We were treated to a Fajita buffet on
Friday and then we were scheduled to go out and watch the bats fly out from
under the Congress? street bridge. Unfortunately, it was raining and the
bats don't fly in the rain so they loaded us up on a bus and gave us a grand
tour of old Austin narrated by an iris society member whose father was an
architect and built a lot of the building we saw. Saturday held the business
meeting, a judges training school by Dave Niswonger on Spurias, an iris
auction (where I bought more iris than I had holes to plant them in) and then
a banquet. It was 2 days of fun, training and fellowship. You really ought
to try one sometime. I am also sure that your local society would love to
have you as a member even if you could not at this time be very active. It
would keep you up on goings on like judges training schools (not just for
judges), shows, the regionals and just give you the opportunity to see other
irisarians.
