In a message dated 96-09-18 13:51:15 EDT, you write:
<< Drainage is not a problem with LAs. You simply cannot over water them.
They will grow in standingwater up to several inches. This much water is
not required, but they will reward you for it by growing rampantly. >>
Boy am I glad to here this. I have waited a couple of years to work out
something (the black PLASTIC tubs) to find a way to plant LA's someplace that
would allow me to keep them wet and with the acid soil they like. I was
really beginning to sweat. For the record all 12 of my new LA's have put on
new growth and seem to be going great guns. As a matter of fact they have
taken off much faster than my bearded iris. Hope to put in a few new ones
next Tuesday following my local societies beardless iris membership give away
(what a mouthful). The bottom line is the society has purchased beardless
iris to give to the members and I hope to add either LA's or Spurias to my
collection.
Thanks again,
