My husband is from the Northern tip of Maine, Presque Isle as a matter of
fact.There are two things that stands out in my mind about that neck of the
world. #1 is the small harness racing tracks scattered all over the place.
Watching horses work with the steam rolling off of them at the crack of dawn
is almost as good as sneaking out to the garden before you go to work on a
nippy spring morning to see who opened overnight. The second thing is not
the amount of rain but the amount of snow! Yikes! Other than the Panhandle
of Texas, my only other permanent locale was southern California. I still
think snow ought to be seen on picture post cards. Not, lived in or driven
through.
