Re: Beardless i.d. by foliage



Donald -- early on in the summer, I think, someone, Clarence maybe, suggested
that water-loving iris foliage has horizontal lines which you can see when
you hold it up to the light.  It seems that LAI are water loving and you might
be able to see these line if you hold the leaf up to really strong light.

You will know what you are looking at, especially if you contrast with a 
pseudo-chorus (G) which definitely has these little lines.  They are about
1/16" to 1/32" and very evident.

If LAI are NOT water lovers, this will, of course, not work.

Someone who is a lover of LAI who can tell if LAI have this characteristic?
