<Arthur from Denmark wants to know hhow long it takes iris seed to grow to
bloom size>
First you must be aware that iris seed does not bloom true to the original
plant unless it is a pure species. Cultivars can be very nice from seed or
just "dogs". It can take from two to three growing seasons for bloom to
appear. Perhaps half the plants will bloom the second year if the growing
conditions have been ideal, but the flowers might be smaller than in the
third year. My first reply to Email on the List and I am a bit green about
Denmark too, except I know they produce good bacon and I had a roommate at
college for one year that came from Denmark. A very nice chap.
