Me too, especially with newly planted ones.

Not always my experience - some seem to be 'sinkers'. Maybe it depends on
soil texture or moisture or? Looks to me like heat and drought stress (and
other forms of injury) contribute more to rot in my excessively drained soil
than moisture.
