You, and Dianne, are way earlier than here. My first dwarf opened today - 
MAKING EYES - it has been first every year. It was drowning in the rain, so 
I picked it and brought it inside.
I had chosen today to line out my iris seedlings, but the weather, which was 
lovely all morning, decided to change as soon as I finished work at 2.00pm. 
It has just stopped raining now that it is dark! Excellent rain though, and 
much needed.
We have plenty of frosts here too. As an elderly neighbor once said, expect 
your first frost for the year, anytime after new years day, and your last, 
no later than New Years eve.
