Two things come to mind...yes, builders dump all kinds of junk when
they're building...I know because we keep digging up bricks and brick
fragments all over the yard from a foot down or so. Don't they use sand in
stucco and cement? If so, that coudl be where they dumped the extra. The
other possiblity...prehistoric golf course sand traps or neanderthal
sandboxes <g>.
