Life down here is still the same on the 10th! Planes still in the sky,
traffic lights still operating, electricity and water still running, sun
still in the sky and my American Express bill arrived today and all was in
order! Yup, everything is calm on the south-western front......

Actually, the scare stories about 9/9/99 were mostly myth. Computer code
for this date is 090999 - no four nines in a row to put an end to life as
we know it. Glad to hear you made it through the danger zone with flying
colors, though. With five-and-a-half hours yet to go, I am assuming we will
pull through, too.
BTW, since east and west begin at Greenwich outside London, your location
actually represents the south-eastern front, unless the Kiwis wish to claim
sole possession of the front lines. (-:
