SDB:Bloom report, Aus
From: "Jan Clark" <janclarx@hotmail.com>
Hi there,
after an apparently early start, everything slowed down here.
MAKING EYES is blooming it's lovely head off, and SWISH (A greeny yellow
lightly marked plicata) opened yesterday. Today I have flowers on WIZARD OF
ID, TALK, and finally MOUNTAIN VIOLET (first TB)
Colour showing on TRAMP, BEING BUSY, CHERRY CHILD, And lots of fat little
buds developing.
I'm thrilled to report that my IB's planted from seed last year, have buds
coming on.
I have buds on 3 plants from (Marscay X Aztec Burst)
and a bud on (Wine Light X Aztec Burst)
These will be the first of my own hybrids to flower!
My first pod for the season is fattening up too! I dabbed a bit of I.
schachtii pollen on the last flower, and it took without a whimper.
The photo's should be available soon, so, if they are any good I will send
one.
Hope all those people in cyclone areas are holding out safely. I think we
caught the edge of it here ;-(. There were 120kph winds whipping through
Melbourne last night, ripping rooves of houses. It was quite gusty here,
some 100 miles north.
Cheers, Jan Clark, Australia
