Well, I am pleased to advise that our La. iris bloom season has started with
a big bang. We too have had very mild weather over the last week or two.
It has really brought the blooms on.
I did a couple of garden talks last week and was able to take a bucket of
La. blooms to show the people. I was hoping that I might have one spike
available!
I have just been to the garden and picked three buckets of bloom to take
down to Canberra this weekend for their Garden Expo. Last year when we went
we had one flowering spike. What a difference this year!
Will be leaving tomorrow and coming home again on Monday. Looking forward
to meeting Paul & Yvonne Tyerman again while we are there (also on
iris-talk!).
Colleen, have you had your SA Region's meeting and talk by Barry Blyth yet?
If so, how did it go?
We have just received our new season's catalogue back from the printer and
have a bundle to send down to Pam Jackson with a Show Trophy. Will get to
it next weekend after all of the excitement of Canberra is behind us.
We were expecting 31 degrees C in Sydney today (mid Summer weather) with UV
already in the 5 reading - it's only Spring! Fortunately it hasn't hit THAT
HIGH a temp. but the weather looks like a mini Floyd is about to descend
upon us instead (minus the high winds).
