Dear Linda: I too hve difficulty with both Mother Earth and Best Bet. The
one I might like to use with them is that sib to SET SAIL, numbered OO
33-4-1. It does not have much blending , but is a tall, well-branched
amoena with tangerine or red beards, and is out of MESMERIZER. I might also
use the bicolor rust/vivid RVwhose main fault is that it is too tall and
goes over. It is from LADIES'S NIGHT and HER ROYAL HIGHNESS. The color on
this is maybe what some call "to die for". It does not rebloom but has
very, very rugged fans, stalks, and growth.
We had five inches of rain from hurricane FLOYD, and are ever so grateful
that it verred slightly east after landing at Wilmington. No trees down
here, and no loss of power. I was very relieved, for I am not a good
"camper". One iris in bloom, an excellent stalk of LOW HO SILVER> . LLOYD
