Hello Folks,
I dug up where I had planted OYEZ, MOR and DARLING WHO KNOWS.
These were intended for a bed prepared specially for harder to grow
varieties (or what I manage to surmise are probably harder to grow from
reading). Instead, I hadn't finished the bed and they got planted on the
high end of the new TB bed which didn't get filled up. Now that I'm
relocating, they will be subject to more water and I've finished the other
bed. I was very pleased to find apparently healthy rhizomes, tho they
are completely dormant at the moment. This seems significant to me.
It seems to be an indication that I may be able to grow those types
with trickier cultivation requirements here in my locale. The new bed
is a wide crevice between boulders, so I will be able to cover it easily
should there be a long rainy spell in summer and it is open on the
ends so has perfect drainage. Don't know how deep the planting
soil is, but several feet at least. Before I plant the arils and what I
think are harder to grow arilbreds here, is there any expert advice
anyone would care to share?

Texas Zone 7 - and thanks for the info on Werckmeister's Clone #2.
Guess it may go in the new bed also.
