If this a cemetary that arranges for regular maintenance, then you will
probably be
welcomed by the caretaker, who should get kudos for leaving the irises
unharmed.
Since it has irises, I suspect it might be a rural cemetary which stays
untended
most of the time.  If this is the case, and the irises have been fending for
them-
selves, then it's my opinion that it would be o.k. to do as you propose and
would
not hurt in the least if you took a rhizome or two or more.  If and when
someone
decides to do regular maintenance, whether voluntarily or under the aegis of
a
formal group, then it has been my observation that the irises swiftly come
under
the mower blade without regard to the intent of those who may have
originally
planted then.  The growth habits of irises do not lend themselves to fast
and
easy maintenance.
