Well said, Moira. Yes, "chaotic" is a relative term, because there is
always some order to things and predictable relationships between living
and non-living things. I just like to think of nature as a great mystery
that does not need to be solved or completely understood. It's an ethic
I choose to live by but I don't impose it on others. Of course our
survival as a species has always depended on some mastery of nature. But
we've probably gone too far and we've created imbalances and
catastrophe.
