I haven't grown this myself (my climate is a tad too cool) but my
Australian Wildflower catalogue says it can be grown in most
well-drained soils in full or partial sun. It is moderately
frost-resistant (recommended for sub-tropical, warm temperate and
Mediterranean zones) and suitable for coastal gardens. They say to prune
back twiggy branches and unwanted growth after flowering.

And then they say " this outrageous climber should only be grown where
it has room to spread away from other plants. It is ideal for covering
back fences or old sheds, for stabilizing sloping banks, or for growing
as a robust ornamental at a beach house".... You have been warned!!!
