Re: Lonicera Japonica


Yoel -- If this is the Lonicera I am familiar with (and I think it 
is), it is a bullet-proof plant in southern california.  Sunset 
Western Gardens (which is the plant bible in these parts) describes 
it as a "rampant grower."  The evergreen vine has purple-tinged white 
and sweet smelling flowers.  It is used for erosion control, covering 
fences, and basically hinding anything that needs to be hidden. 
Takes dryness pretty well when established and tolerates poor 
drainage.  You should be able to find additional information by doing 
an internet search as well.
