This is a good suggestion.  I am sure that people don't intentionally 
retain voluminous original message in their replies, but it does make for a 
nicer response if these are edited to the pertinent lines.

I use Eudora as my mailer, which makes it easy to achieve this, as shown in 
my selection of your post above.  Before I hit the 'reply' button, I 
highlight the text that I am answering.  This is the only text included in 
my response.  People using other types of mailers probably have some 
similar way to make it easy for themselves - its worth a bit of research to 
learn a way that is easy and logical to use.

If you choose not to include original text in your response, please try and 
state what topic or to whom you are responding, so we all can understand 
the context of your post.

Sorry to belabor tedious 'rules' and 'etiquette', but consideration of 
these does keep this group the positive and informative resource it is today.
