Last year I opened my garden to the public for 6 weekends. It was a very humbling and rewarding experience. People were so grateful. This year we are doing it again. Any of you are welcome to visit. There is no charge-just come and enjoy. It is a 1 acre garden with paths meandering through it, over 750 different hybrid Iris, 60 Rose bushes, 30 some fruit trees, lots of bulbs, herbs, vegetables and other plants. Some rare and unusual plants. The roses are in a circular pattern but the rest of the plants are randon with veggies, fruits, herbs etc mixed freely to accomodate beneficial insects. We only have 1 area that has any automatic water capability. The rest, about 89 % of the garden is watered by us by hand. Most of the plants do not have heavy water requirements. I raise most of our fruits and vegatables whic! h do require watering. We also have chickens. We get classes visiting for tours and people who come with notebooks, questions and even grocery bags of plant cuttings from their yards to be identified. Several people come every weekend as long as we open the gates. They talk plants and gardening as long as they can. It is quite fun. We open the gates Friday thru Monday from 11 am to 4 pm. We are located at 16380 Harwood Road, Los Gatos, just South of San Jose, Ca. If you need better directions or have questions you may e-mail me. Carolyn
