Gardening Under Mediterranean Skies III

Some of you have been asking me for information regarding the Gardening
Under Mediterranean Skies III Symposium, scheduled to take place this fall
in California. I have just placed more detailed information on the Pacific
Horticulture web site (www.PacificHorticulture.org) along with the on-line
registration form.
The keynote speaker team, California's David Fross (teacher and nurseryman
in the San Luis Obispo area) and France's Olivier Filippi (a nurseryman
near Montpellier, and an occasional participant here on the Medit-Plants
forum), are already working on their joint presentation,
contrasting/comparing these two similar regions. David & Olivier have been
friends for some time and have often visited each other's nurseries and
their local native flora.
By popular demand, this Symposium will again be held in both San Francisco
(Sept 27-29) and Los Angeles (Oct 4-6). This event happens only every 2
years, this year coinciding with the Mediterranean Garden Society's Annual
General Meeting, also to be held in Los Angeles. To facilitate attendance
of both events, the MGS AGM will be held Oct 1-3 - in this way we hope that
some of our foreign MGS members will also be able to attend the
Symposium. Membership in the MGS is required for attendance of the
