Re: Seedlings that refuse to develop

Yes, I had the same problem last spring - Delphinium too.
Let me say that this happened in continental climate - Zagreb /spring
7-18°C, some humidity; summer 20-38°C,
winter -15-5°C/, soil in the garden is clayey.
After they've got their seed leaves, I waited for three months - but no
signs of development has occured. The summer came to an end, so I planted my
4 cm tall Delphiniums into the garden.
They were barely alive, lost their leaves in winter, BUT this spring, about
70% of them are about 40cm
(cca 15 inch) tall.
I've also planted few of them in the garden in mediterranean zone, red earth
(is there another name for such soil in english?).They are much better than
last year, but there was no rain for 3 and half months and it seems they
suffer a bit. But suffer makes you (and them, I hope) noble!

Good luck!
