Re: Burkwood's Broom

Hello,

I am so glad the Burkwood broom was mentioned.  I grew this cultivar in Tuolumne a couple of years back and couldn't remember the name.  I bought three of the shrubs in bloom in one gallon size at Ace Hardware in Sonora, California along with some compact rose/pink flowered weigela (that I also fail to remember the cultivar name of) and several Robinia x Ambigua 'Idahoensis'.  I may just try calling the nursery section of the hardware store to see who supplies their plants (they always seemed to have unusual plants at that store) - I would love to obtain some more of this broom.  Burkwood broom is definitely spectacular in flower and the bloom time is quite long lasting.

I am thinking the garden journal Nan mentioned would be a good idea for me to remember some of my favorite plants.  I could list them in some organized fashion - then when want a particular plant again for a new location - I will know what plant to search for.
