I planted two standard wisteria to cover my arbor
three years ago - one on either end of an arbor. I was just wondering what
to do with my wisteria this year. Now that it has covered my arbor, long
thin branches are starting to sprout all over the place on top. I have
only seen one sprout from the ground and I cut it off. I will have to heed
Moira's advice and keep up with the pruning. I may need to build
myself a scaffold to reach it to prune it though. Our summers are so hot I
wanted something to cover quickly and thickly - I've got both. For
photos of my wisteria trained as a standard and covering my arbor, please see
links below. These photos are from last season.
