I planted a Grevillea 'Long John' in a friend's garden, only to have its leaves turn yellow after a year or so in the ground. We applied soil sulfur and iron and it greened a bit, then the new growth all turned brown and died. My friend insisted that it had to go, so we replaced it with a second one.
Same thing. The lower growth is green and flowering, but the new, outer growth is dead as a doornail.
I am thinking of cutting it back and seeing if it goes through a second growth spurt this year
The plant is in really great, well draining soil, watered regularly by drip irrigation. No critter damage.
Any suggestions? Nan
