I had fun reading through these articles (I actually love hearing personal accounts of plants and gardening rather than austere pedantic tomes).

Brought to mind a collection of photos a friend shared with me about her travels around the Adriatic. I found them in my photo archive and stopped this one which appears to be Centaurea ragusina? She took several shots of this plant but this one was the sharpest. Interesting to now have an ID and some information.

I’ve emailed you separately about a friend not far from you who may have a plant (she got it from me years ago).

I have always been interested in people’s stories about the plants they grow (or have grown).  Many of the plants we have in our garden today such stories, sometimes connected to gardening friends who are no longer with us.

My grandmother grew this and it was so different from the other plants in her garden I could not help but notice it. No family member ever remembered as I did when she passed away.

Thank you for giving me the latin name. Now all I have to do it find someone growing it!
