Can anyone help with the cultivation of Sophora secundiflora (Texas mountain
laurel)? I grew some plants from seed but only one survived which I have
just planted out in a southeast facing border backed by a wall. It is about
five inches tall and looks sickly, with yellow leaves.I live in the south of
France near Carcassonne, where the climate is sub-mediterranean with wet
late autumns and relatively mild winters (lowest temperatures normally -5 to
-7 degrees) but we do get strong winds which are occasionally freezing, and
the air is very dry in summer with about six weeks without rain in June and
July. The soil is on the heavy side with pH about 7 to 7.5.
