I have seen a very nice Flannel bush ( forget the latin) growing right
above a VERY busy tunnel in monterey ( ts only about 6 feet above the
street ) . I have also seen a very nice planting of Flannel bushes and
some un-native plants ( Dietes vegeta ) with some local granite in a
divider in monterey. they seem to cope well with the big trucks and the
many cars that pass by them.
Ive also seen some ceanothus' that have been pruned into cubes. they
dont get a lot of leaves ( although they are in a shady spot) and are
RIGHT next to cars ( Its along the drive through of a fast food
restaurant)
