Dear Connie, I also have a honeysuckle I'm considering planting to cover a fence. My fence is also a flat wooden type, so my plan is to buy chicken wire (they cut it for you at the hardware store to the lengths you want) and 2x2 uprights that are 6 ft. long. I'll predrill some holes in the 2x2's, wrap the chicken wire around it, and mount it to the fence with screws. That will give vines something to cling to and climb, and a little bit of air space behind the wire for circulation. There are no doubt better, fancier ways of doing it, but I figured this would be inexpensive and fast to build. Are there other folks out there with better/fast/easy/inexpensive solutions for vines on flat wooden fences? Wendy
