I've got to agree - it can be an absolute thug and will force its way
through the cement of old walls. P. capensis can be quite nice in
colder areas where winters help to keep it in check, so too the
hybrids. I grew 'Yellow Trumpet' for a couple of years but it quickly
shot up to 8ft and remembering how difficult the species can be to
eradicate once really established, I ripped it out. Nevertheless,
they are very handsome when in full flower and at least once they
start, they often carry on well into the winter.
