Buddleja

Whilst on this subject, can anyone give a rating on the different species
here as to their drought hardiness ?

We sometimes see B. davidii cultivars, which are lovely & showy, but they
definitely require additional summer watering. Otherwise there are 3 native
species generally grown -
B. salvifolia with dense, creamy white panicles, B auriculata with looser,
elongated, yellowish flowers & B. saligna ( which looks like an olive bush )
with creamy, white flowers. All exceptionally sweetly scented & drought
hardy, with the B. auriculata requiring a little more supplemental summer
water. It has very large, soft leaves.
