Try forwarding the message and attachment (without opening!) to uce@ftc.gov.
This is a Federal Trade Commission mailbox set up to collect unsolicited
commercial email, but it has the side benefit of immediately emailing you
back if the attachment contains a known virus, and if so, what the virus is.
