May I second Lillian's good suggestion about half and half: potting mix to
fine stones of some kind?
I've found old fashioned "turkey grit" to be just the right stones.
Sometimes called "granite grit", it's found at feed stores. Very cheap, and
you'll get a lecture from the "feed man" about how it's not considered a
good idea any longer to give grit to your foul!
