Anyone in Malta

Dear Medit Plants,

I am going to be spending about a year in malta teaching english, and I
am looking for some gardening contacts. I spent 2 weeks in malta this
summer, and saw that the arid climate, salty water, wind, and clay soil
would pose a challenge that I have not experienced in my career of
gardening in the monterey bay, california area. I will be living in an
apartment and gardening in containers, so I will also be looking for a
source of red worms or any kind of decomposing tactic that i can keep
neat.

Anyone who has the insatiable need to garden and who has some ideas for
this challenge, please share! I would be very grateful...
