Title: Re: Annual Meeting Visit
I need some help from the group.
We are attending the MGS Annual General Meeting in Pasadena, driving down from
San Jose on Monday of that week and driving home on Friday. We want to visit
nurseries along the way that may have interesting plants to possibly add to our
garden.
Are there other places besides those below that would have natives or medit
plants of interest?
Las Pilitas in Santa Margarita
Bay Laurel in Atascadero
Theodore Payne in Sun Valley
Santa Barbara Botanic
Thanks.
Here are some more
- Desert to Jungle in Montebello (not far from Pasadena)
- Nuccios -- specializing in camellias and azaleas and in Alta Dena near Pasadena
- Hess Turkland in Montecito just south of Santa Barbara
- Chia Nursery in Carpinteria just south of Montecito
- San Marcos Growers just north of Santa Barbara (wholesale)
- There are many orchid growers in Santa Barbara as well but I don't have any names in my memory banks -- there used to be one called the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate. I don't know if it still exists.
I am sure I'll come up with some more and will send them your
way.
Nan
