What is Gopher Wood?


Hello Anthony,
According to the following website (a simple google search gave me this) "Gopher" and "Wood" are translated "Squared Beams" in the Septuagint and "Planed Wood" in the Latin Vulgate. Another possibility described is that there is a scribal error (the hebrew "g" and "k" look very similar), if that is the case it would make the word "gopher"="kopher" which is translated "pitch" resulting in "Pitched Wood".

As far as your other question, if one accepted a supenatural, world-wide flood, what difficulty does a gopher deciding not to eat through the hull pose? (Besides, if it is properly translated "pitch" I'm sure it would taste terrible).
