Nan, I don't think this particular Phlomis (tuberosa) could be rooted by
cuttings, as it is one of those that has only rosette leaves. No stems
except at blooming time. That was why I was wondering about division. Sue
sent me to a Web site that says P. tuberosa can be divided carefully, and
care must be taken not to damage tubers. That makes me feel none too eager
to dive in, as this is my only plant. I got it from Heronswood, but I have
noticed they have not carried as many lately. I would love seeds of either
P. tuberosa, or P. italica, but it seems the blooms get zapped by our early
may heat and shrivel the seed making process. Thats my explanation for lack
of seeds, anyway.
