It makes me wonder too. Why do I insist on trying? It is like that poor
mythical figure that had to lug some large stone up a hill, only to have it
roll down. Or something. I raise these rare and precious plants, only to
have a gopher eat it. And then, I do the whole damn thing again.
Much of the west has gophers. Especially in foothill areas.
