I stopped at my local Trader Joe's this afternoon (a small, specialty market chain mostly in California) and to my surprise, they were selling pots of Lewisia! In San Diego! Lewisias are seldom seen in this part of the state so I purchased three golden blooming ones and three with apricot/pink colored blooms.
There is no species designation on the Lewisias so I am wondering whether someone can help me ID them. Rosettes have 4 - 5" long leaves that are bright green and more lanceolate than the hybrid called 'Magenta.'
Flowers on these little Lewisias are on stalks , 4 - 5" tall with multiple blooms on each.
Can anyone tell me which Lewisias these are and how drought tolerant I can expect them to be?
Thanks! -- +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
