on as before, producing these cones from time to time. My book says you
can reproduce it from offshoots from the trunk, if you get any. The very
feathery cone does not look female, but I wouldn't know. You will find
out whether it produces nuts or flatter segments with pollen capsules
underneath.

These common names are very intriguing. I wonder if anyone on the list knows their origin or whether any part is indeed edible?
