Well I was about to say that lady's name.
The person who would know is David Victor (DX Victor) but he is not on this
list. Perhaps someone has his email address.
He was able to offer good advice to me re crocosmias. He even offered me a
corm of the incomparable El Dorado (syn E A Bowles) but I think that he has
been so busy that he forgot to send it. If you ever see his sig file and
entry in The Yellow Book you would know why.
Thinking about this I wonder if you actually have El Dorado.
I love crocosmias. I try to ensure I buy them in flower so I actully know
what I have. In fact it was buying a batch of "Custard Cream" that made me
make it a rule with all plant purchases. They were described on the label as
a cool pale yellow. in the Uk we have popular biscuits called Custard Creams
so I took it that these flowers would be the same colour but they were not
more a lurid pale orange.
I like Severn Sunrise and on Friday at Shrewsbury I bought a lovely mahogany
coloured one called Mrs G Howard. I have just been outside cooing over it
and debating were to plant it.
