I think your real problem is going to be insufficant winter daylight.
Here, in southern France, mine starts flowering in early November and they
go on for about a month. I have seen them flowering in February, though!
The tiniest cold wind will ruin the flowers. They also need some wind
protection. If you do get a frost they will usually start again from the
bottom and flower the same year. I usually plant mine downhill from the
house so I don't have to stare into the sky to see the flowers<g>.
Cuttings are easy - just get a bit of stalk and cut it so that there is a
knot at each end and push it in the ground/pot!
