Isn't it odd - one man's meat and all that.  In the upper reaches of
the northern hemispher, M. pudica acts like a demure and thoroughly
tender sub-shrub which can turn its toes the moment conditions become
remotely inhospitable.  Down south, it acts as an utter thug, swamping
everything within arm's reach and strangling all in its thorny grasp.
Surely a lesson to be learnt for those of us hell bent in introducing
alien species to our gardens.  Before anyone raises an objection, I'm
guilty as charged.
