Re: Lechenaultia

Lechenaultia (correct spelling) formosa - Goodeniaceae
Difficult to maintain in normal garden situations. A prostrate, semi woody perennial.
Sometimes semi-erect, but never more than 30 cm. Flower color varies - white, pink,
scarlet, orange or yellow,or any combination or hue of those colors. Normal
distribution - Western Australia. Normally propagated from cuttings as seed
germination is very difficult and sporadic. The plant needs almost perfect drainage to
succeed over a period of time. Should be planted in a raised position when not in
excellent draining soil. Shade is recommended although in its natural habitat the plant
grows in full sun. Flowering occurs in the spring with sporadic flowering until autumn.
Flowers are tubular with 5 expanding lobes.
