A few quick miscellaneous replies:

Beverly: thanks for info. on the Leptorynchus. Encouraging! I see that
'mass planting' in my mind's eye already...!

Rooting 'Phyllis van H': my original donor agrees that it's absolutely
easy. I, of course, have failed.... (Dave, I hope you're listening!)

Diane: Phyllis's parents are Ruttya ovata and (wait for it) Ruspolia
hypocrateriformis. Wow! My original donor grows both but can't, in the
UK, so far get'em to flower.
