News of Heidi Gildemeister

Those of you who see the garden magazine "Horticulture" will want to
take a careful look at the January/February 2001 issue for the fine
article by Heidi, excellent photographs by Charles Mann, on her 20 years
of gardening in the Mediterranean.  If you have yet to buy Heidi's book,
this should be of particular interest.  It was great to see an article
that addressed itself to our concerns, so rare in all garden magazines,
sad to say.

Happy holidays to all...but I do wish it would rain...was out on errands
today and all those driving convertibles had the tops down, hair waving
in the breeze, and this is the first day of winter!
