I can answer the Christmas tree question.  Yes, but nut we mostly call
it pohutakawa.  It makes a lovely show at Christmas.  Folf wisdom says
it will be a long hot summer when the pohutakawa bllom early.

There is a rarer yellow variety, and the red colour is not consistent,
but in my experience it is mostly the intensity of redness that varies,
and I'm not familiar with an orange version.
