Re: Melianthus minor

Ernie, et al:

Phlomis is one of my favorite genera. In my research
to locate plants for a proposed new botanical garden,
I cam across these taxa and the appropriate, mostly
wholesale, sources:

Phlomis x ‘Edward Bowles’: MGN, NSN
Phlomis fruticosa: ENG,	MGN, SMG, NSN, HWN, MBN
Phlomis fruticosa "Dwarf": HWN, NSN
Phlomis italica: NSN, HWN
Phlomis lanata 'Pygmy': NSN
Phlomis purpurea: PGS, NSN

ENG = El Nativo Gardens (Azusa)
HWN = Heronswood (retail m.o.)
MBN = Monterey Bay Nursery (Watsonville)
MGN = Magic Growers (Pasadena)
NSN = Native Sons Nursery (Arroyo Grande)
PGS = Potrero Gardens (retail, S.F.)
SMG = San Marcos Growers (Goleta)

I think hybridizing within this genus will soon give
us some truly outstanding garden plants.

I'm also seeing plenty of new Cupheas (love 'em),
Nepetas, and Origanums finding their way into the
American trade.
