Einion, I wonder whether the pink Lepto might be the variety
'Sunraysiana'. I've grown this for a few years and it is now about 8
feet high. Every April/May it is smothered in wonderful double pink
flowers which are much darker in bud. As the flower open, they look
almost like tiny carnations. I posted a pic of it on the UK Oasis
site many moons ago - it is still there. Have a look and see if it
corresponds with your plant. If it does, you can expect great things!
I've had a look, and if it isn't exactly the same cultivar then it's as near as dammit - or at least, as far as my memory recalls. I'll check again next spring. Yes, it's inordinately pretty. The label on it at the time simply said 'Leptospermum', and I think it was yet another plant that came over to the UK from the Dutch Horticultural Trade, if that's any help.
I must say that the two gardens I've seen with lots of leptospermums in them (Greg Plenty's garden in Yorkshire and Jeff Irons' garden in Cheshire) both had a lot going for them. Not that either garden is mostly given over to tea trees, but they did add to the 'exotic' atmosphere of both.
