Tree Injection to Prevent Fruit

My sister has a Melia azedarach or chinaberry tree in her yard and she wants to prevent the berries from forming.  A gardener told her of an arborist who said she can inject the tree with something to prevent it from forming its berries.  Has anyone heard of this treatment?  Does it work?  Do you know what they are using to inject?  Will it harm the tree?

Interestingly, I read the chinaberry is cultivated for its berries to be used in floral arrangements - one person's treasure is another person's weed.

Thank you.
