Re: Heat Loving Plants with Orange Leaves, Berries and Flowers ?

Dear Nan,

I used to hate the color orange and now I find myself drawn to it.  I really got a laugh from Bill's story about orange.  Thank you so much for the plant list.  For some reason today, my mind was drawing a blank on orange and I knew there had to be more plants  I could use.  I am going to add some burgundy and possibly some either silver gray or maybe some lime green foliage plants for some contrast.  I am still thinking about the whole design and the effect I want to have in the front part of the yard.  All that is there now are two roses, some verbena and the rest grass - which is what we arrived to when we moved here in April.

I am going to have to do some research on some of the plants you have listed as they are unfamiliar to me - but I love new plants.  I do have some Canna Tropicana in the bog part of my meadow area and they were just spectacular this summer - I hope the 25 F didn't kill them - I think they are more tender than the other cannas?

I can't wait to get some ideas on paper for the front yard - and then the plant search - even more fun than antique shopping.

Thanks again Nan.
